Lutfi al-Haffar (1891-1968) who became Prime Minister in 1939

Haffar created a cabinet after the resignation of Prime Minister Jamil Mardam Bey, but it failed at solving the gridlock in Franco-Syrian relations, and was forced to resign less than two months after coming to power.
