Syria's first treaty with an Arab country, signed with Iraq - April 24, 1937

Seated in the middle signing the treaty in Damascus are the Iraqi and Syrian Foreign Ministers Naji al-Assel and Saadallah al-Jabiri. Between them sits the French Foreign Minister Comte Henri de Martel. To the right next to Jabiri are Prime Minister Jamil Mardam Bey and Justice and Education Minister Abdul Rahman Kayyali.
