Mohammad Ali Eltaher was a renowned journalist based in Cairo, who owned a newspaper called Asshoura, which advocated liberation of Arab lands from European control. It was the central media outlet for the nationalist movement in the 1920s and 1930s. He moved to Damascus after the Free Officer Revolution in 1952.
