Lahham and Qali became the most famous comedy duo in the Arab World, inspired by Charlie Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy. They were co-founders of Syrian TV in 1960 and worked side-by-side until illness left Qali paralyzed in 1976, pretty much like illness forced Oliver Hardy to leave Stan Laurel in the US.
