1925:

The People's Party of Dr Abd al-Rahman Shahbandar is founded in Syria. It is the first official party in French Mandate Syria, calling for an end to the mandate, the creation of a democracy, and the establishment of a pro-Western regime that strives for union between Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine. The party is funded by the Hashemite royal family in Baghdad, and among its founders are three future prime ministers; Jamil Mardam Bey, Lutfi al-Haffar, and Faris al-Khury.

1925:

The French High Commissioner Henri Ponsot forces Prime Minister Ahmad Nami to resign, accusing him of having ambitions to create a throne for himself in Syria, and replaces him with Prime Minister Taj al-Din al-Hasani.
